Senior Backend Engineer, RoR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Overseeing and providing support for the current implementation.

• Conducting requirement analysis.

• Creating high-quality, detailed design documents.

• Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation action plans.

• Reviewing the contributions of fellow developers and offering constructive feedback.

• Establishing coding standards and best practices to ensure product quality.

• Maintaining and supporting existing APIs.

• Instituting code quality measures.

• Supporting and maintaining current web services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.

• Strong understanding of OOP principles and design patterns.

• Proficient in applying SOLID principles effectively throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Familiarity with Rails’ code structure and commonly used Rails patterns.

• Practical experience in writing unit and integration tests using Minitest.

• Knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.

• Understanding of version control systems like Git.

• Experience with the AWS ecosystem is preferred.

• Possesses analytical thinking skills, teamwork capabilities, and attention to detail.

• Intermediate or higher proficiency in English, with effective communication skills.

• Nice to have:

• Significant experience with Vue 3.

• Familiarity with Java.

• Experience with technologies such as Redis and Elasticsearch is advantageous.

• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes (including reading pod logs and understanding deployments).

• Proven experience in translating business requirements into technical designs.
