Senior Backend Engineer – Recommendations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop, deploy, and maintain robust recommendation services, encompassing I/O-bound web services, CPU-bound services, and data services.

• Create AWS CloudFormation scripts, Jenkins jobs, and GitHub actions that adhere to industry best practices.

• Establish service observability, monitoring metrics, and alert systems using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty, and AWS CloudWatch.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines along with dedicated stability testing tailored to recommendation requirements.

• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical business partners to enhance and refine recommendation functionalities.

• Engage in communication with stakeholders both within and outside the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid foundation in computer science and a strong understanding of networking principles.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining high-load real-time services.

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform for effective cloud resource management.

• Practical experience in establishing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficient in a scripting language like Python, with added knowledge of compiled languages such as Go or Rust being advantageous.

• Experience in server-side programming for web services, along with a solid grasp of API design principles.

• Skilled in configuring and managing observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana, as well as integrating alert systems such as PagerDuty.

• Familiar with Service-Oriented Architecture and knowledgeable about communication protocols like protobuf.

• Background in working with NoSQL and relational databases, distributed systems, and caching solutions.

• Experience with major public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Proven ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams.

• Exceptional English communication skills.
