Senior Backend Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, and QA) to envision, design, and implement impactful features.

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly documented code, prioritizing reliability and testability.

• Effectively integrate third-party services and APIs, ensuring robust error handling and smooth degradation.

• Continuously improve system performance and developer experience through strategic automation and refactoring.

• Identify and resolve complex issues across the technology stack while proactively seeking opportunities for technical enhancements.

• Contribute actively to code reviews and architectural discussions, advocating for engineering best practices within the team.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical decisions, systems, and processes to ensure transparency and long-term scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Over 5 years of hands-on professional experience in software engineering, focusing heavily on backend development.

• Extensive expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with a solid understanding of modern backend architecture and engineering best practices.

• Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and scaling web services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong skills in relational databases and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).

• Experience with frontend technologies like AngularJS or React is an added advantage.

• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, utilizing a structured approach to problem-solving.

• Strong communication abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
