This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement backend services and processing pipelines that effectively manage substantial volumes of healthcare data.
• Integrate and enhance AI components, including Large Language Models (LLMs), to drive intelligent features and insights.
• Collaborate with frontend, data, and AI teams to provide seamless, data-rich user experiences.
• Take full ownership of the entire feature development lifecycle, from initial conception through to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Establish observability for services and data pipelines to facilitate effective diagnostics and uncover performance insights through monitoring, logging, alerting, and autoscaling.
• Apply best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
• Work closely with product owners and designers to convert requirements into technical specifications.
• Keep abreast of backend best practices, emerging AI tools, and trends in healthcare interoperability and AI.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in backend development, specifically in building scalable, distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java).
• In-depth knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Extensive experience in system design, backend services, data processing, and analytics.
• Comprehensive understanding of backend observability (monitoring, logging, alerting, autoscaling).
• Practical experience with relational databases.
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact organizational projects.
• At least 2 years of experience in a startup environment.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for product development and a proactive attitude towards taking initiative and ownership of projects.
• Dedication to adhering to best practices and standards in software development.
• Desire to contribute to the establishment of an engineering team from the ground up.
