This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take responsibility for our transaction processing platform infrastructure, focusing on signing and settlement flows, service design, correctness guarantees, and operational health.
• Manage the transaction-ordering and concurrency-control logic essential for maintaining the correctness and consistency of our transaction processing platform at scale.
• Create data models, API contracts, and retry/backoff logic for the services you oversee; draft RFCs that Banking and Blockchain engineers depend on for integration with your services.
• Establish the criteria for what constitutes "production-ready" for the platform services you manage, including SLOs, alerting thresholds, and runbooks.
• Lead incident response and root-cause analyses for the services within your domain, and conduct postmortems to avert future occurrences.
• Analyze consistency models, failure modes, and capacity for the systems you manage, proactively identifying architectural risks before they escalate into incidents.
• Work directly with Banking and Blockchain engineers who rely on your services, translating their requirements into platform functionalities.
• 5–7 years of experience in backend software engineering, preferably involving systems with strict correctness or ordering guarantees (such as financial transactions, ledgers, or distributed queues).
• Strong expertise in TypeScript; familiarity with Effect (effect.ts) or a similar functional effect system is highly preferred.
• Experience with durable workflow or orchestration systems (e.g., Temporal or similar), either by operating one in a production setting or by designing services that utilize one.
• Solid grasp of concurrency control patterns, including partitioned/keyed execution, idempotency, at-least-once delivery, and reconciliation.
• Proven production experience with PostgreSQL and Kafka or comparable messaging infrastructure.
• Comfortable independently owning a service, including making critical decisions regarding reliability and design.
• Excellent written communication skills—your role will involve drafting RFCs that others outside your immediate team will act upon.
• Competitive compensation package, including salary, bonus, and equity.
• Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental benefits.
• 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
• Flexible vacation policy (PTO) and a remote-first work environment.
