Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and uphold our production services at scale.

• Troubleshoot production issues across services and various layers of the stack to ensure an exceptional user experience.

• Create seamless integrations between Fieldwire and external services and partners, enabling our customers to maximize the benefits of our platform.

• Facilitate technical architecture discussions and influence technical decisions within the team.

• Utilize your senior experience to mentor fellow engineers on best practices.

• Enhance Fieldwire’s engineering standards, tools, and methodologies.

• Launch a rapidly expanding API while guaranteeing 100% backward compatibility.

• Develop services with effective auto-scaling to accommodate both peak and non-peak traffic.

• Design end-to-end systems that facilitate real-time synchronization of large data volumes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in production web application development.

• Proficient in modern web application development and relational databases.

• Capable of writing clean, well-tested, and modular code that colleagues can easily own, comprehend, and maintain.

• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.

• Experience with Ruby on Rails and its associated ecosystem.

• Previously worked with high-traffic web applications and services.

• Well-acquainted with Docker and containerization technologies.

• Familiar with AWS.
