Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of developing and enhancing essential backend services and infrastructure for the observability platform.

• Guarantee reliable, high-throughput data pipelines and APIs.

• Collaborate with open-source contributors and clients.

• Address community and customer challenges, integrating their feedback into backend architecture and API design.

• Design and implement scalable backend systems for ingesting, processing, and querying petabytes of observability data.

• Create foundational services that assist engineers in diagnosing production issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on backend development.

• Preference for experience in building developer tools or infrastructure.

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Familiarity with Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks.

• Strong grasp of API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.

• Experience with Go is advantageous.

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

• A passion for open source and the developer community.

• Experience in creating developer tooling.

• Familiarity with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, or other analytical/OLTP databases is a bonus.

• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, logging pipelines, or metrics infrastructure is an added advantage.

• Experience with SDKs or client library design is a plus.

• Exposure to Kafka, NATS, message queues, streaming systems, or event-driven architectures is a bonus.
