Senior Backend Developer – Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Offer technical leadership for the Unified Advisor Experience related to electronic application and lifecycle tracking (eTrack) as well as electronic documents (eDocs).

• Create integration patterns and define API contracts.

• Develop and uphold RESTful APIs and integration services.

• Connect backend source systems with the advisor portal front end to display advisor-facing data, application and transaction lifecycle status, client statements, and tax documents.

• Link backend source systems, such as Salesforce and Alfresco.

• Build advisor entitlements and access control features from the ground up.

• Oversee intricate integrations.

• Offer guidance on solution design.

• Perform code reviews.

• Mentor intermediate developers.

• Collaborate within an Agile squad alongside architects and delivery leads.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in RESTful API and microservices backend development using Java and Spring Boot in Maven-based environments deployed to Azure and AKS, with a focus on secure API design.

• Skilled in designing and constructing API contracts and integration patterns across enterprise source systems.

• Experienced in messaging and queue-based integration patterns utilizing JMS and ActiveMQ.

• Knowledgeable in designing and implementing authentication, authorization, entitlements, and access control solutions.

• Familiar with SQL and data mapping and transformation between source systems and front-end API contracts.

• Senior-level hands-on delivery experience, including independently developing complex integrations, establishing technical patterns through code, and providing code reviews and mentorship while remaining a primary contributor.

• Preferred: Experience with integrating document management systems like Alfresco or similar enterprise content management platforms, including OnBase, Documentum, or OpenText.

• Preferred: Exposure to Salesforce data integration.

• Preferred: Experience within financial services, banking, or insurance sectors.
