This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Develop, construct, and manage services and data pipelines for geospatial and temporal analytics.
• Create and implement production-grade APIs and microservices utilizing Python.
• Employ Domain Driven Design for effective domain modeling.
• Integrate Neo4j for graph-centric tasks, focusing on Cypher query optimization and graph data modeling.
• Establish data engineering and machine learning workflows on Databricks.
• Handle geospatial and temporal data, encompassing spatial indexing, time series, and relevant geospatial standards and tools.
• Ensure service reliability, performance, and security while monitoring services in a production environment.
• Oversee features from technical discovery and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and runtime monitoring.
• Review code, mentor team members, and participate in architectural decision-making.
• Proficient in advanced Python, including writing clean idiomatic code, managing virtual environments, packaging, type hints, and utilizing async and await.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI and best practices for asynchronous programming in production.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented design principles and common patterns such as factory, strategy, repository, and dependency injection.
• Solid practical understanding of Domain Driven Design, particularly event-driven domain modeling.
• Expertise in RESTful API design, including resource modeling, versioning, error handling, pagination, and OpenAPI.
• Experience with event-driven systems using Kafka, MQTT, or Azure Event Hubs, along with publish/subscribe and asynchronous task processing.
• Strong SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Neo4j.
• Knowledge of Docker, a working understanding of Kubernetes, and familiarity with the Linux command line.
• Experience in testing and CI/CD processes utilizing pytest, TDD, and tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of secure coding practices, including OWASP Top 10, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English in an international context.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Azure DevOps, Key Vault, structured logging, Prometheus or Grafana, and OpenTelemetry tracing.
