Senior Backend Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Design and take ownership of backend services utilizing NestJS and TypeScript, guiding projects from schema development to production.

• Make autonomous architectural decisions that prioritize scalability, maintainability, and reliability.

• Develop and sustain GraphQL APIs within a microservices architecture.

• Manage database design, optimization, and reliability, specifically in Postgres.

• Establish the technical direction that extends beyond mere implementation details.

• Set and uphold quality standards for both AI-generated and manually crafted code.

• Interpret ambiguous product requirements and convert them into precise technical solutions.

• Contribute to system architecture, infrastructure choices, testing methodologies, and enhancing developer productivity.

• Function within an AI-first workflow while upholding engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Highly experienced backend engineer capable of functioning at the Lead Engineer or Architect level.

• Prior responsibilities that align with those of a Lead Engineer or Architect.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.

• At least 2 years of experience working with Nest.js.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with databases.

• At least 2 years of experience with Postgres, GraphQL, and TypeORM.

• 3 years of experience with Node.js.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a tech lead role.

• At least 3 years of experience with TypeScript.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with NestJS.

• Proficient in utilizing AI tools within software engineering workflows.

• Capability to leverage AI for accelerating implementation, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving processes.

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

• Conversational proficiency in English.
