This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and document scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures on AWS, with additional integration and support for Azure workloads.
• Design and implement reference architectures and design patterns that comply with FedRAMP Moderate control baselines, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-171.
• Spearhead cloud migration and modernization strategies, encompassing workload assessments, right-sizing, and cost optimization.
• Assess and propose cloud-native and hybrid solutions while balancing performance, cost, and compliance requirements.
• Conduct technical gap analyses and assist in ATO documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and architectural diagrams.
• Create reusable Infrastructure as Code templates utilizing Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Set up secure CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, containerization, and DevSecOps tools using Azure DevOps and AWS-native services.
• Design identity access boundaries, MFA, SSO, network firewalls, and encryption for both data at rest and in transit.
• Establish SRE practices and develop disaster recovery solutions.
• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers.
• Collaborate with Cloud Computing, Application Development, Data Science, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity Engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Act as the technical subject matter expert for cloud design decisions and oversee enterprise cloud architecture that supports mission-critical federal programs.
• US citizenship is required.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret eligible clearance.
• At least 12 years of work experience with a BS/BA in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience with an MS/MA.
• 8 years of progressive experience in cloud infrastructure/architecture roles on AWS.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing AWS solutions, including VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, networking/Transit Gateway, KMS, Organizations, Control Tower, PrivateLink, Direct Connect, and Site-to-Site VPN.
• Strong understanding of networking, databases, storage, and container tooling on AWS.
• Experience with AWS cloud-native security services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Inspector.
• Proven experience architecting in FedRAMP Moderate (or FedRAMP High/DoD or similar compliance) environments, with knowledge of NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 control families.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with cloud-native and serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, microservices) and containerization (EKS, ECS, Fargate).
• Experience in hybrid/multi-cloud architecture, including Azure (VNets, Azure AD/Entra ID, SSO/MFA, Azure Policy, Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).
• Experience implementing SRE practices and disaster recovery plans.
• Experience in supporting ATO and continuous monitoring processes with government customers.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
