This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Collaborate closely with the QA Automation Architect to develop, maintain, and enhance scalable and reusable test automation frameworks for both UI and API layers.
• Create and sustain automated test scripts for UI workflows and API endpoints, addressing functional, regression, and performance testing needs across the platform.
• Ensure that automation solutions seamlessly integrate with CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous testing and prompt feedback loops.
• Contribute to automation best practices, coding standards, and shared tools to support QA engineers across various squads.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively work to address them through expanded automation efforts.
• Review and validate tickets from the Platform squad, testing and confirming platform-level changes as part of the overall QA workflow.
• Utilize AI tools and agent-based frameworks (e.g., Claude or similar LLMs) to expedite test generation, maintenance, and coverage enhancement.
• Develop and refine agent skills and prompting strategies that ensure reliable and repeatable AI-assisted test authoring.
• Partner with the QA Automation Architect to integrate AI-assisted methods into the larger automation workflow in a maintainable and scalable manner.
• Aid in the design and execution of performance and load testing initiatives to validate application behavior under realistic and peak conditions.
• Utilize tools such as JMeter, k6, or similar to create performance test suites and analyze their results.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and communicate findings effectively to engineering and product stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and the QA Automation Architect to ensure automation efforts align with feature development and application requirements.
• Analyze test execution results and provide clear reporting on defects, coverage, and automation health.
• Share knowledge and offer guidance to QA engineers in developing automation skills across squads.
• Advocate for ongoing improvement in testing processes, tools, and infrastructure.
• Over 5 years of experience in a software development engineering in test, QA automation, or a related engineering role.
• Proficient programming skills in one or more of the following: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java, along with familiarity in version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Experience with both UI automation (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress) and API automation (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, or similar), including knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and related content formats.
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Proven experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools and LLM-based agents to assist in test creation and automation workflows.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing concepts and tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Locust, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to identify root causes and create effective solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
