This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, animation, and production teams to support and actualize the defined creative vision, pinpointing opportunities where audio can enhance player experience, immersion, and gameplay clarity.
• Operate within production timelines and constraints, creating and delivering audio content in a timely and iterative manner, while effectively communicating risks, dependencies, and technical specifications.
• Design, create, edit, and implement sound effects for gameplay systems, including weapons, characters, environments, vehicles, and scripted events.
• Develop and sustain interactive audio systems that enhance player feedback, combat clarity, navigation, squad coordination, and the overall gameplay experience.
• Implement audio directly within the engine using established tools and middleware, ensuring reliable functionality across various gameplay scenarios and platforms.
• Regularly test, debug, and iterate on audio content, identifying and resolving issues related to mix, clarity, performance, implementation, and player understanding.
• Constructively respond to feedback, refining audio assets, implementation, and mix balance to elevate immersion, readability, and overall quality.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining audio quality standards, best practices, and implementation workflows throughout the project.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in game development, with a strong emphasis on audio design, dynamic mixing, and technical audio implementation.
• Proven experience in shipping at least one title, preferably within the action, shooter, or military gameplay genres.
• Proficiency in at least one major Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as ProTools or Reaper.
• Experience in recording, editing, implementing, and refining voice-over content to enhance narrative, gameplay, and cinematic experiences.
• Demonstrated capability to create, implement, and polish high-quality game audio from concept to final delivery.
• Familiarity with audio middleware (such as Wwise) and integrating audio content within Unreal Engine.
• Strong comprehension of interactive audio design principles, including player feedback, spatial audio, mixing, and gameplay readability.
• Comfort in working independently on assigned content, managing tasks, iterating on feedback, and addressing implementation challenges in a production environment.
