Senior Associate, Data Solutions Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and maintain robust data pipelines.

• Execute data transformation processes.

• Offer operational support, including runbooks and documentation.

• Design and implement strategic data solutions using contemporary data engineering principles.

• Independently develop and enhance data ingestion and transformation tasks.

• Provide incremental datasets for downstream usage.

• Advocate for automation and apply DevOps principles within an agile development framework.

• Assess and refine existing data pipelines.

• Suggest future-state architectures that enhance scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with teams in data platform engineering, data governance, data science, and data analytics/visualization.

• Support and mentor early-career professionals.

• Report to the VP or AVP of Data Solutions Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, cloud technologies, and data operations.

• At least four years of programming experience (Python, Julia, and/or R).

• Proficient in SQL.

• Strong understanding of data lakes, data governance, and modern data quality practices.

• Experience with Databricks and/or Dagster and/or DBT is preferred.

• Detail-oriented with strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Domain experience in Actuarial, Investment, or Finance within the Insurance/Reinsurance sector is advantageous.
