This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer expertise in ELA regarding the utilization of NWEA assessment data in teaching and learning.
• Create content that promotes the appropriate, consistent, defensible, and equitable application of NWEA data.
• Assess, review, and enhance materials and assessments from HMH and Heinemann.
• Design and uphold high-quality assessment items and passages that align with standards, frameworks, resources, specifications, checklists, and style guides.
• Conduct senior reviews of item and passage sets.
• Assist in the documentation process and evaluation of passage or item bank inventories.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as an ELA subject matter expert.
• Advise program management on project-related issues and concerns.
• Implement evidence-based and equitable practices in product strategies and approaches.
• Facilitate project launch meetings and lead development-focused project meetings.
• Generate innovative ideas to enhance processes and procedures.
• Monitor tasks, schedules, budgets, and adherence to financial, legal, and organizational standards.
• Communicate project direction, progress updates, concerns, and proposed solutions effectively.
• Collaborate across teams to support the Scrum methodology.
• Deliver informational and professional development workshops.
• Train and mentor both new and existing staff members.
• Cultivate and share expertise in development tools, software, and processes.
• Implement project modifications and communicate intervention needs to management.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, such as English Language Arts or Education.
• Minimum of 3 years of combined experience in subject-area teaching and as a test development specialist.
• Subject matter expertise in English Language Arts.
• Proficiency in industry standards for assessment quality, including technical requirements for items and tests.
• Knowledge of assessment development processes for custom and shelf products.
• Experience in writing or reviewing curriculum.
• Strong comprehension of how assessment and curriculum work in tandem to foster learning.
• Working knowledge of research design, data analysis, psychometric concepts, and measurement principles.
• Experience in instructional design and delivering training.
• Ability to collaborate extensively with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Capability to devise creative solutions to resource and scheduling challenges.
• Proficient in clearly communicating project direction, progress, concerns, and proposed solutions.
• Preferred but not required: master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Preferred but not required: 5 years of K–12 classroom teaching experience.
• Preferred but not required: at least 3 years of experience in educational assessment.
• Salary range of $86,000-$96,000.
