Senior Architect, Licensed Building Architect, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architectural design for extensive hyperscale cloud data center and colocation initiatives, from initial concept through to construction administration and project closure.

• Work in collaboration with internal engineering teams, construction personnel, and external stakeholders to create fully coordinated and integrated design solutions.

• Create and evaluate drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring adherence to codes, standards, and client design requirements.

• Manage coordination with consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities to facilitate project delivery and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Act as the architectural subject matter expert for hyperscale and colocation clients, guaranteeing operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability in facility design.

• Mentor and support junior architects and designers, promoting technical excellence and innovation in design.

• Keep abreast of industry best practices and trends in data center design.

• Assist in business development, proposal writing, and the development of conceptual architectural designs for new projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.

• Knowledge of building codes, mission-critical infrastructure standards, and data center design requirements.

• Proficiency in BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and other related design tools.

• Over 5 years of experience working with hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models.

• Valid U.S. Architectural license.

• LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainable design credentials.

• Experience in fast-paced, global project environments.

• Extensive experience working with permitting authorities and AHJs.

• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.
