This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
β’ Evaluate customer RFQs, specifications, single-line diagrams, drawings, and technical requirements for data center and critical power applications.
β’ Choose and configure low-voltage power distribution solutions, which include RPPs, HDRPPs, PDUs, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, breakers, monitoring systems, and associated equipment.
β’ Create comprehensive technical quote packages containing configurations, options, clarifications, exclusions, assumptions, and commercial inputs.
β’ Detect specification gaps, technical risks, missing information, and requirements that need clarification.
β’ Offer technical guidance to customers and Sales during the opportunity development process.
β’ Collaborate with vendors and suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, technical data, documentation, and application support.
β’ Work in conjunction with Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Project Management, and Sales for technical handoff and execution.
β’ Enhance application engineering tools and processes, including costing tools, quote templates, standard options, configuration tools, documentation, and best practices.
β’ Over 5 years of relevant experience in applications engineering, sales engineering, product engineering, estimating, or technical proposal development; exceptionally strong direct industry experience may be considered with slightly less overall experience.
β’ Direct experience with data center, mission-critical, electrical manufacturing, or low-voltage power distribution equipment.
β’ Proficient understanding of RPPs, HDRPPs, PDUs, switchboards, panelboards, breakers, transformers, monitoring systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
β’ Capability to read and interpret customer specifications, single-line diagrams, electrical drawings, and technical requirements.
β’ Strong grasp of electrical power distribution concepts, including voltage, current, breaker selection, short-circuit ratings, grounding, monitoring, and coordination considerations.
β’ Experience in independently developing technical quotations, proposal packages, customer submittals, or engineered-to-order product solutions.
β’ Excellent customer-facing and cross-functional communication skills.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, vendors, and customers.
β’ Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong attention to detail and clear ownership and accountability.
β’ Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center customers is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with UL 891 switchboards, UL 67 panelboards, UL 508A controls, or similar standards is preferred.
β’ Experience with product configurators, costing, or CPQ tools is preferred.
β’ Knowledge of Modbus, Ethernet, branch circuit monitoring, power meters, SCADA integration, or remote monitoring is preferred.
β’ Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software is preferred.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
