Senior Application Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with mobile, frontend, and backend engineering teams on threat modeling and conducting security reviews.

• Design secure libraries that enhance the functionality of Yelp’s applications and services.

• Develop and implement login and account security services for both Yelp’s website and mobile applications.

• Assist in security incident response and support team operational activities.

• Evaluate bug bounty submissions and vulnerability reports generated from internal security tools.

• Create automated solutions to identify and mitigate application security threats.

• Promote security best practices and policies throughout the software development life cycle.

• Contribute to fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in software engineering with a focus on application security.

• Strong grasp of web application security, mobile security, APIs, and cloud security.

• Familiarity with prevalent vulnerabilities, including those listed in the OWASP Top 10.

• Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript/React, Swift, or Objective-C.

• A software generalist with a keen interest in application security.

• Experience in security research and penetration testing is an advantage.

• Comfort in reading and navigating unfamiliar codebases.

• Must reside in the United Kingdom.

• A basic criminal background check via AccessNI is required for applicants from Northern Ireland.
