Senior Application Engineer, Zuora Billing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive architecture and intricate design of product catalogs within Zuora Billing, which encompasses charge models, management of the subscription lifecycle, and the design of scalable O2C/OTR solutions that align with business and financial processes.

• Facilitate advanced configurations in Zuora, including custom workflows (automation, integrations, error handling), mediation and data transformation pipelines, sophisticated billing rules, custom rating logic, multi-entity/multi-currency global setups, tailored reports/data sources, and optimization of billing performance.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust integrations between Zuora and enterprise systems (such as Oracle ERP, tax engines, payment gateways, CRM, and data platforms), which include API-based integrations, middleware flows, automated reconciliations, and audit control mechanisms.

• Manage post-go-live production support, covering incident management (P1/P2), root cause analysis, change and release management, operational stability, and support for financial close and compliance processes.

• Lead full lifecycle implementations (from requirements to hypercare), providing governance and technical leadership, mentoring team members, ensuring documentation and knowledge transfer, and representing Zuora architecture in executive and cross-functional design forums.

• Develop and implement system conversions and implementations.

• Facilitate cross-functional requirement sessions to gather, document, and analyze business requirements and functional specifications, including identifying unarticulated or conflicting requirements and challenging conventional thinking.

• Oversee KLO operations and support stakeholders with daily activities, financial close, reconciliations, etc.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Zuora subscriptions, billing, product, and pricing management.

• Must possess knowledge of integrations involving Zuora with Salesforce, Oracle ERP, Banks, Payment Gateways, and Avalara tax.

• Proficient in the Zuora platform, its objects, custom events, and workflows.

• Familiarity with developing and executing system conversions and implementations.

• Solid understanding of customer aging, AR to GL reconciliation, and month-end processes.

• Should have a comprehensive understanding of change management and Agile methodologies.

• B.Tech or an MBA degree is required.
