
Senior Appian Plugin Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
⢠Refactor custom Appian plugins to eliminate filesystem, database, and logging dependencies that are not compatible with Appian Cloud.
⢠Redesign and update plugin components to utilize supported Appian APIs and integration patterns that comply with cloud standards.
⢠Confirm compatibility of both custom and AppMarket plugins within Appian Cloud environments.
⢠Evaluate and address any configuration or deployment gaps identified during the plugin validation process.
⢠Implement secure, centralized logging methods that adhere to cloud deployment standards.
⢠Package and deploy revised plugins across development, testing, and production environments.
⢠Assist with regression testing for dependent Appian applications affected by plugin updates.
⢠Diagnose and resolve issues related to plugin functionality, integrations, or environmental discrepancies.
⢠Collaborate with Appian Developers to adjust application objects and integrations that are affected by cloud migration.
⢠Work alongside DBAs to ensure that plugin modifications are aligned with data migration and validation efforts.
⢠Engage in structured migration governance processes, which include technical documentation, status updates, and risk management.
⢠Contribute to the preparation for production cutover, rollback validation planning, and post-migration stabilization activities.
⢠Document strategies for refactoring, compatibility assessments, deployment procedures, and definitions of completion.
⢠Operate within a specified delivery timeline, ensuring accountability for milestones and maintaining technical quality.
⢠Over 7 years of professional experience in Java application development.
⢠More than 3 years of practical experience in developing and maintaining custom Appian plugins.
⢠At least 3 years of experience in modernizing or refactoring legacy application components for cloud environments.
⢠Over 3 years of experience in designing secure integration patterns using RESTful APIs.
⢠Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing and configuring modern logging frameworks (e.g., Log4j2, SLF4J).
⢠Over 3 years of experience supporting deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
⢠More than 3 years of experience working in multi-team agile or hybrid delivery settings.
⢠Green Card holder or US Citizenship is required.
⢠Must be eligible to obtain Public Trust Security clearance.
