This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the technical lead for third-party vendors during the phases of API onboarding, application development, sandbox testing, beta implementation, client authorization, and production go-live.
• Execute billable Professional Services activation engagements, which include production-readiness reviews, route and tier preflight checks, beta-client readiness assessments, gap-remediation plans, and time-bound beta launch sprints.
• Offer practical technical consultation on FHIR, REST and JSON APIs, web services, authentication, SMART application launch, Bulk FHIR, and contemporary integration patterns.
• Assess vendor use cases and data requirements, mapping them to supported API routes, FHIR resources, and NextGen EHR, practice-management, and clinical workflows.
• Detect API coverage gaps, technical risks, and integration obstacles, coordinating resolutions or escalations through Product, Engineering, Support, and program channels.
• Manage vendor engagements as technical projects, encompassing scope, milestones, timelines, dependencies, deliverables, launch-blocker triage, and stakeholder communications.
• Oversee client-environment readiness, consent and authorization requirements, testing, downtime and cutover planning, and rollback considerations.
• Prioritize vendors not yet in production, steering each engagement towards a defined next milestone.
• Ensure that activation services are compliant with program, contractual, regulatory, and Professional Services requirements.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Support, Product, Engineering, Client Success, Sales, and other internal teams to address blockers and align on go-live outcomes.
• Monitor engagement time, deliverables, milestones, and outcomes for Professional Services billing, utilization reporting, and API program revenue targets.
• Create and enhance enablement materials, technical documentation, readiness tools, and repeatable playbooks.
• Provide Product and program leadership with insights on technical blockers, API route gaps, vendor needs, and process improvements.
• Assist in the production-scale adoption and stabilization of newly activated vendor integrations as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, health informatics, information systems, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that meets the necessary qualifications.
• Over 6 years of progressive experience in technical integration, API or software integration, solution consulting, implementation consulting, or Professional Services within healthcare technology or SaaS.
• More than 3 years of hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, FHIR, HL7, web services, authentication protocols, and modern integration practices.
• Proven experience leading intricate technical integration engagements from discovery and solution mapping to testing, production readiness, and go-live.
• Background in working directly with third-party vendors, developers, clients, or partners to troubleshoot technical issues and deliver production integrations.
• Familiarity with NextGen Enterprise EHR and practice-management solutions or a similar healthcare technology platform.
• Expertise in evaluating technical requirements, identifying integration gaps and risks, and defining remediation or escalation paths.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent technical engagements, including scope, timelines, dependencies, deliverables, priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
• Proven ability to coordinate technical work across Product, Engineering, Support, Client Success, Sales, or comparable cross-functional teams.
• Experience in developing technical documentation, readiness assessments, implementation plans, gap-remediation plans, or repeatable delivery processes.
• Project management, healthcare interoperability, cloud, integration, or other relevant technical certifications are preferred.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, web services, OAuth 2.0, token-based authentication, and secure integration patterns.
• Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, including FHIR, HL7, USCDI, SMART application launch, and Bulk FHIR.
• Familiarity with EHR and practice-management data structures and workflows related to clinical, administrative, and revenue-cycle processes.
• Knowledge of API onboarding and activation processes, software development lifecycle, testing, troubleshooting, technical readiness assessment, and data-access scoping.
• Awareness of applicable healthcare interoperability, privacy, data-access, and regulatory requirements.
• Capability to independently guide contracted vendors through the live production use of NextGen Enterprise APIs.
• Ability to assess technical readiness, risks, gaps, and determine resolution or escalation paths.
• Skill in balancing multiple engagements, competing priorities, dependencies, and business commitments.
• Capacity to deliver consistent billable services in accordance with program, contractual, and regulatory standards.
