This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take the lead on work streams to create advanced data foundations for essential enterprise reporting datasets.
• Act as a subject matter expert in subscription data.
• Convert subscription data requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide mentorship to colleagues in the subscription data area.
• Create reusable business logic and data pipelines.
• Build data models, data contracts, alerting mechanisms, context, and metrics/semantic layers.
• Facilitate both traditional and AI-enhanced analytical use cases.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design teams throughout the organization.
• Uphold and support journalistic independence and the mission of The New York Times.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, product analytics, or similar data-centric positions.
• Expertise in SQL, DBT, and data transformation workflows.
• Proficient in Python for ETL and analytics applications.
• Experience in communicating updates and solutions to clients and other stakeholders.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with business-oriented partners and platform-centric engineers.
• Practical knowledge of GCP/BigQuery, Databricks/Spark, AWS, Snowflake, or other cloud data platforms.
