Senior Analytics Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design, implementation, and enhancement of certified data models, semantic layers, and reliable business metrics that serve as the backbone for reporting and decision-making at TechnologyAdvice.

• Collaborate directly with Finance, Revenue, Marketing, Editorial, Product, and Engineering teams to comprehend business inquiries, establish trusted metric definitions, and transform ambiguity into scalable data solutions.

• Design, construct, and sustain analytics models, transformations, and data products utilizing contemporary analytics engineering practices.

• Establish and perpetually enhance data quality through automated testing, validation, monitoring, and observability to ensure that business stakeholders can depend on the data they utilize daily.

• Enhance the architecture, organization, and maintainability of our analytics platform, consistently identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, and modernize our Business Intelligence ecosystem.

• Work alongside DevOps and Software Engineers to enhance data ingestion, lineage, orchestration, governance, and platform reliability across the analytics stack.

• Utilize AI-assisted development methodologies to expedite SQL development, documentation, testing, root cause analysis, and engineering productivity while adhering to stringent standards for data quality and accuracy.

• Record business definitions, data models, metric logic, and architectural decisions to promote transparency, onboarding, and long-term maintainability.

• Continually assess new technologies, AI capabilities, and analytics engineering methodologies that enhance data quality, governance, developer productivity, and stakeholder confidence.

• Manage trusted data products from start to finish—encompassing business discovery, metric definition, implementation, validation, adoption, and ongoing improvement.

• Advocate for a culture of trusted data by assisting teams in adopting certified data models and minimizing duplicate business logic across reports, dashboards, and applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in designing, building, and maintaining certified data models using modern analytics engineering practices.

• Strong comprehension of dimensional modeling, semantic layers, data quality, and analytics engineering principles.

• Proven experience in implementing automated testing, validation, documentation, and monitoring to enhance trust in analytical data.

• Strong systems thinking ability with an understanding of how upstream data collection, transformations, and downstream reporting interact within the analytics ecosystem.

• Demonstrated capability to leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve SQL development, documentation, testing, root cause analysis, and engineering productivity while maintaining high standards for accuracy and quality.
