Senior Analytics Engineer – Central Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop the central data model, certified metrics, and data products for Finom.

• Design entities, metrics, and data products along with tests, lineage, and documentation.

• Build and maintain data pipelines while onboarding new data sources from start to finish.

• Maintain CI/CD processes and conduct data quality checks, participating in migrations as needed.

• Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand business processes and define data requirements.

• Relate data initiatives to business costs and value, and recommend process enhancements.

• Engage in recurring reporting, regulatory and audit cycles, reconciliations, and business data inquiries.

• Develop and assess LLM processes for translation, classification, aggregation, and preparation of unstructured data.

• Make the semantic layer accessible to internal tools and agents via MCP and APIs.

• Prepare reproducible and traceable data for agentic tools, AI harnesses, and external stakeholders.

• Own a domain roadmap while mentoring others in semantic-layer and analytics-engineering practices.

• Report directly to the Head of Central Data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in SQL with strong skills in dimensional or semantic data modeling.

• Competent in Python, including testing and version control.

• Experience in building metrics and semantic layers.

• Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehouse or lakehouse environments, including end-to-end onboarding of data sources.

• Practical experience using LLMs for data tasks such as classification, extraction, translation, or agents.

• Ability to consult with the business and frame solutions based on business value.

• Experience with Databricks and Unity Catalog is a plus.

• Hands-on experience or understanding of MCP, tool invocation, tracing, and evaluations for LLM applications and agents is beneficial.

• Experience with workflow automation tools, such as n8n, is desirable.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code concepts is advantageous.

• Background in fintech, banking, or experience in a high-volume operational-flow business is a plus.

• Proficiency in English as the working language.
