Senior Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Accountable for converting raw data into clean, reliable, and well-documented models that drive analytics.

• Design, construct, and uphold transformation layers in dbt, adhering to best practices for data modeling.

• Manage the semantic and metrics layer, establishing governed, version-controlled business metrics.

• Collaborate with BI developers to present trusted datasets through BI tools.

• Create and maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and lineage for stakeholders.

• Take ownership of end-to-end data validation by incorporating automated tests into the transformation workflow.

• Work together on operationalizing analytics within services such as Snowflake Cortex and Databricks AI.

• Guide junior analysts and engineers in SQL and dbt best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, or data engineering, with an emphasis on data modeling and transformation.

• Proven experience managing the entire development lifecycle, from gathering requirements and design to testing, deployment, and production launch.

• Exceptional, expert-level SQL and Python skills for transformation, automation, and tooling.

• Extensive hands-on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud), building modular, tested, version-controlled transformation pipelines.

• Significant hands-on experience with Snowflake or Databricks, preferably within an AWS environment.

• Established track record of delivering governed metrics and curated datasets to BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

• Bonus: Practical experience in building and maintaining analytics model libraries across core business domains.

• Experience with data governance tools and platforms like KNIME.

• Demonstrated experience in implementing automated testing frameworks, data profiling, and pipeline validation.

• Strong documentation practices and a sense of ownership.

• Relevant IT professional certifications are a plus.
