Senior Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Engage at the crossroads of data engineering and analytics, collaborating with analysts and stakeholders throughout the organization to convert raw data into reliable, reusable datasets.

• Structure data from a diverse range of sources on our central data platform.

• Assist in defining and validating essential metrics, ensuring that the data utilized by our models, dashboards, and AI tools is precise, dependable, and well-documented.

• Contribute to the semantic layer and metric governance, ensuring that definitions are consistent, documented, and trustworthy across reporting interfaces.

• Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate analytics engineers through code reviews, collaborative work, and knowledge exchange.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in analytics or data engineering, with more than 3 years concentrated on analytics engineering and production DBT development.

• Proficient in SQL and DBT, including advanced modeling techniques, incremental processing, and deployment across multiple environments.

• Extensive experience with contemporary cloud data warehouses (such as Athena, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift), including skills in performance tuning, partitioning, and incremental strategies.

• Strong grasp of dimensional modeling, metric design, and the ability to document grains and business logic for end-users.

• Familiar with semantic layer or metrics tools (like LookML, MetricFlow, dbt Semantic Layer) or similar in-repo metric standards.

• Practical experience with CI/CD for data pipelines and orchestration tools (such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).

• Capable of articulating complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
