This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Execute second-party QMS audits to ensure adherence to the 91XX and ISO series standards, as well as RTX and business unit policies, procedures, and regulatory and customer requirements across RTX locations.
• Assist the Lead Auditor with activities such as audit planning alongside the EQA audit planner, representing the audit team during interactions with site leadership, conducting opening and closing meetings, and daily debriefs with site staff.
• Verify that processes, products, and services meet internal standards, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.
• Aid in the preparation of comprehensive audit reports that encompass findings, non-conformances, and the review and approval of effective corrective actions, ensuring their successful implementation.
• Assist in analyzing audit performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for ongoing improvement.
• Leverage data analytics to facilitate thorough audit preparation and planning based on both historical and current performance data.
• Collaborate closely with EQA Regional Leads and Ops Excellence Leads to support the audit schedule, ensuring audits across RTX are conducted as planned.
• Build collaborative relationships with functional and business leaders to foster a transformative quality organization that aligns with business goals.
• Engage in weekly Corrective Action Review Board meetings to review and approve or reject formal corrective actions as necessary.
• Assist with special audits (e.g., suspensions, major customer complaints, high-risk sites) and independent assessments, as well as site certifications when required by RTX business units.
• Generally requires a University Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field; alternatively, 6 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
• At least 1 year of experience in quality assurance is necessary.
• Knowledge of the 91XX series and ISO9001 standards is essential.
• Capability to achieve certification as an Aerospace Auditor (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA) within one year is required.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is essential.
• Current validated Lead Audit certification (evidence required).
• Existing AATT (Aerospace Auditor Transition Training) Certification (evidence required).
• Certification as an Aerospace Auditor (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA) (evidence required).
• Proven experience in planning and managing multiple audits concurrently.
• Familiarity with ETQ/BU Corrective Actions processes/systems is beneficial.
• Competence in presenting audit findings and concepts to key stakeholders and executive management.
• ASQ Certification (CQA, CQE, CQM) is preferred.
