Lead Director – Mainframe Systems Engineering

📋 Description

• Define and implement the long-term engineering strategy for IBM zSystems.

• Build, nurture, and retain a high-performing team of platform engineers.

• Oversee enterprise platform reliability, operational resilience, and system availability.

• Lead initiatives focused on security-by-design principles, compliance engineering, and vulnerability remediation.

• Advocate for integration initiatives that connect mainframe systems with cloud platforms.

• Manage and cultivate strategic vendor relationships.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with architecture, security, and application teams.

• Act as an executive-level champion for the mainframe platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise platform engineering.

• More than 6 years of progressive leadership experience in managing engineering teams.

• A minimum of 5 years of technical expertise in z/OS architecture.

• A proven history of successfully delivering large-scale platform modernization projects.

• Strong executive-level communication and influencing capabilities.

• Experience in managing substantial technology budgets and strategic vendor relationships.
