Senior Analyst, Overdose Preparedness – Capacity Building

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing jurisdictional readiness for overdose-related incidents.

• Design and facilitate educational opportunities, workshops, peer learning sessions, and technical assistance activities.

• Assist jurisdictions in utilizing preparedness frameworks, tools, and best practices.

• Oversee the planning and execution of learning cohorts and other capacity-building initiatives.

• Facilitate cohort meetings, workshops, and collaborative learning events.

• Manage the planning, facilitation, implementation, and coordination of assigned project activities.

• Create work plans, agendas, facilitation guides, presentations, resources, and other project outputs.

• Coordinate project implementation with jurisdictions, consultants, subject matter experts, federal partners, and internal ASTHO teams.

• Track project timelines, deliverables, and progress of implementation.

• Spearhead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of preparedness resources, implementation tools, templates, and technical products.

• Convert lessons learned, evaluation results, and emerging practices into practical resources.

• Support the dissemination of effective practices that enhance overdose preparedness on a national scale.

• Aid in project evaluation, document lessons learned, and identify avenues for ongoing improvement.

• Prepare progress reports, summary documents, and other deliverables.

• Integrate participant feedback and evaluation findings into future activities and resources.

• Foster and sustain relationships with jurisdictions, federal partners, consultants, and national organizations.

• Represent ASTHO by leading meetings, workshops, conference sessions, and technical assistance activities.

• Collaborate with various ASTHO teams to support implementation and dissemination efforts.

• Contribute to conference presentations, publications, case studies, webinars, podcasts, and other dissemination initiatives.

• Advocate for project resources and effective practices through national meetings, partner engagement, and communications.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in public health, public policy, health administration, social sciences, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in public health, overdose prevention, substance use, injury prevention, emergency preparedness, or a related field.

• Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Experience in designing and facilitating workshops, learning collaboratives, technical assistance activities, or other adult learning opportunities.

• Proven experience in developing public health resources, toolkits, guidance documents, presentations, or other technical products.

• Experience in building collaborative relationships with state, territorial, tribal, local, or national partners.

• Knowledge of overdose prevention, substance use, public health preparedness, or related public health topics.

• Experience in supporting project evaluation, performance measurement, and the preparation of project reports and other deliverables.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

• Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and build productive relationships with both internal and external partners.

• Willingness to travel a minimum of 5% and up to 10% of the time.
