This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key Workday finance areas.
• Offer expert advice on comprehensive processes, financial controls, and ERP functionalities.
• Convert business requirements into configuration specifications, functional designs, and testable criteria.
• Maintain documentation including functional specifications, configuration notes, test scripts, SOPs, and process workflows.
• Assist with change management, release preparation, and audit documentation.
• Direct the configuration of intricate business processes, validations, posting rules, conditional logic, and reporting frameworks.
• Confirm posting rules, business process flows, accounting results, and reporting logic before implementation.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and apply sustainable solutions.
• Address high-complexity challenges related to accounting data, integrations, or workflow operations.
• Provide support for configuration, testing, and functional ownership of additional Finance Controller’s Office systems.
• Oversee functional delivery for enhancements, releases, and change requests.
• Manage comprehensive testing cycles, including test planning, script development, execution oversight, and defect resolution.
• Identify inefficiencies within finance, payroll, grants, gifts, business assets, and project management workflows.
• Suggest and implement automation, redesign, or configuration enhancements.
• Collaborate with IT on integration, security, and technical escalations.
• Partner with Accounting, AP, Payroll, Procurement, HR, Finance, Grants, Fixed Assets, Projects, Treasury, and IT departments.
• Provide options, impact assessments, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison between business teams and technical partners.
• Facilitate release readiness through testing, documentation, and communication.
• Validate configuration and testing results prior to rollout.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• At least five (5) years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials configuration.
• Proven experience in configuring Workday business processes, accounting centers, allocation, and financial frameworks, as well as security groups.
• Demonstrated ability to develop advanced and composite Workday reports, calculated fields, and analytics datasets.
• Experience leading Workday enhancements, requirement gathering, functional design, and UAT cycles.
• Background in supporting general ledger, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, period close, grants, gifts, business assets, and project management.
• Familiarity with Workday release management, regression testing, and impact analysis.
• Experience working collaboratively with Accounting, Procurement, Payroll, and IT on cross-functional projects.
• Background in supporting or implementing multiple finance systems alongside Workday, including involvement in system upgrades or new implementations.
• In-depth knowledge of Workday Financials.
• Capability to design and configure complex Workday solutions with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in building advanced Workday reports and analytics datasets.
• Ability to diagnose intricate functional issues and lead root-cause analysis.
• Skill in leading cross-functional discussions and influencing stakeholders.
• Strong documentation abilities (including functional designs, test scripts, and configuration notes).
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder influence skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and release cycles.
• Ability to operate in a multi-system environment and comprehend how additional tools integrate with Workday and finance processes.
