This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Create and sustain custom scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks associated with mechanical engineering workflows.
• Utilize Python, MATLAB, or comparable programming languages to enhance data analysis and simulation efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions into existing engineering systems.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and deployment of software tools for mechanical engineering analysis, modeling, and simulation.
• Diagnose software issues and offer technical support to engineering teams.
• Implement timely software updates and patches to ensure functionality and security.
• Administer and monitor engineering software licenses to ensure adherence to licensing agreements.
• Collaborate with procurement, IT, and engineering teams to evaluate software needs and enhance the engineering tool suite.
• Keep a centralized record of software licenses, user access, and renewal timelines.
• A University Degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline.
• Experience in Technical Support and Administration within Windows and/or Linux Environments.
• Proficiency in programming with Python, MATLAB, or similar languages.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Preferred experience in the aerospace or defense sector.
• Experience in development teams using Agile concepts and methodologies is preferred.
• Prior experience in a mechanical engineering position with proven expertise in software license management is preferred.
• Familiarity with software licensing models and agreements is preferred.
• Proficiency in deploying and troubleshooting engineering tools such as CAD, FEA, and CFD applications is preferred.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices or version control systems like Git is preferred.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance may be necessary in the future after the start date.
