This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.
• Create and sustain custom scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks associated with mechanical engineering workflows.
• Utilize programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis and simulation purposes.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions into existing engineering systems.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and deployment of software tools for mechanical engineering analysis, modeling, and simulation.
• Diagnose and resolve software issues while providing technical support to engineering teams.
• Guarantee timely software updates and patches to ensure ongoing functionality and security.
• Manage and monitor engineering software licenses, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
• Partner with procurement, IT, and engineering teams to evaluate software requirements and enhance the tool suite.
• Maintain centralized records of software licenses, user access, and renewal timelines.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline.
• Experience in Technical Support and Administration within Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Proficiency in programming with Python, MATLAB, or equivalent programming languages.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Experience in the aerospace or defense sector is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.
• Experience in development teams utilizing Agile methodologies is preferred.
• Background in a mechanical engineering role with proven expertise in software license management is preferred.
• Knowledge of software licensing models and agreements is preferred.
• Skills in software deployment and troubleshooting for engineering tools such as CAD, FEA, and CFD applications are preferred.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices or version control systems like Git is preferred.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance may be necessary in the future following the start date.
