Senior Analyst – Actuary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage actuarial models for forecasting, reserving, shared savings calculations, provider performance evaluation, innovative clinical solutions assessment, and optimization of ACO performance.

• Lead actuarial assessments on ACO goals, quantifying benchmarks and savings impacts to bolster corporate development strategies.

• Create analytics to identify and assess new provider groups.

• Oversee financial tracking and reporting for the company's ACO initiatives, including partial responsibility for a significant line of business's P&L at a public company.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of ACO REACH, MSSP, and LEAD programs.

• Evaluate new and proposed CMS regulations, formulate organizational strategies, and assist in developing policy positions.

• Maintain, enhance, and produce ad hoc ACO audit documentation to support a public company and ensure SOX compliance.

• Collaborate with ACO, Analytics, Data, Finance, M&A, Contracting, Medical Economics, and Operations teams.

• Convert actuarial mechanics into actionable organizational strategies.

• Assist with a variety of actuarial projects and requests as they emerge.

• Report to the Senior Manager, Actuary.


⛳️ Requirements

• FSA or ASA credentials or nearing attainment of ASA credentials.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in actuarial roles.

• At least 1 year of experience in value-based care (VBC) or related roles.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Intermediate skills in SQL.

• Capability and enthusiasm to construct actuarial models from the ground up.

• Comfort in a small team within a fast-paced environment.

• Advocate for independent critical thinking, willing to challenge the norm and explore innovative solutions.

• Preferred understanding of the actuarial continuum (both pricing/forecasting and valuation/reserving).

• Experience with ACOs is preferred.

• Experience in producing public financial reports is preferred.

• Experience on the provider side of healthcare is preferred.

• Familiarity with Databricks and/or Power BI is preferred.
