This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Spearhead the JFSA Economic Capital program within the organization.
• Manage economic capital governance, reporting, and engagement with stakeholders.
• Evolve economic capital from a mere regulatory requirement into a strategic business management asset.
• Supervise the production, aggregation, validation, interpretation, and reporting of economic capital results in line with the JFSA framework.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of economic capital professionals.
• Act as the primary point of contact with Meiji Yasuda regarding economic capital methodologies, assumptions, results, reporting needs, emerging issues, and strategic opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product Lines, Actuarial Modeling, Finance, ALM, Investments, Enterprise Risk Management, and Governance teams.
• Enhance organizational understanding of economic capital and JFSA through educational initiatives and collaborative discussions.
• Convey economic capital results, insights, and emerging risks to senior management, auditors, regulators, Meiji Yasuda, and other stakeholders.
• Investigate industry best practices and emerging trends related to economic capital and associated frameworks.
• Lead the implementation of economic capital use cases in business management, strategic planning, pricing, performance measurement, capital allocation, and resource distribution.
• Advocate for a comprehensive framework that facilitates risk-aware decision-making and supports sustainable strategic growth.
• Bachelor’s degree or a comparable combination of education and experience in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• ASA designation is mandatory.
• FSA designation is highly preferred.
• A minimum of eight years of actuarial experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.
• Solid understanding and experience with economic capital regulations, governance, reporting relevance, and their effects on business strategy, performance management, capital allocation, and growth decisions.
• Proven experience in managing and providing technical oversight to senior actuarial individual contributors and/or actuarial teams.
• Demonstrated experience in driving actuarial team performance towards established business objectives.
• Familiarity with JFSA is advantageous.
• Proficient in Excel is required.
• Experience with Power BI is a plus.
• Experience with Dataiku is a plus.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate complex concepts into easily understandable ideas.
• A criminal background check and verification of employment, education, and licensing are required.
