Senior Algorithm Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in and oversee the comprehensive lifecycle of biosignal-based algorithm development for medical devices, encompassing specifications and requirements gathering, data curation and labeling, development, failure analysis, production, maintenance, and documentation.

• Identify, implement, and develop suitable methods for each challenge, including assessing when deep learning or alternative methods yield the best results.

• Enhance internal deep learning and machine learning tools to boost team productivity.

• Introduce innovative model architectures and algorithmic strategies.

• Optimize the codebase for reusability and swift experimentation.

• Improve best practices to ensure user-friendly, well-documented, and rigorously tested algorithm implementations.

• Execute unit tests, comprehensive documentation, continuous integration (CI), and non-regression testing.

• Present findings to key stakeholders and assist in algorithm utilization for client interactions.

• Support client-facing initiatives and influence the impact of algorithms on customers.

• Collaborate with data scientists, neuroscientists, engineers, and clinicians to define, build, deploy, and sustain models that analyze brain and biosignal data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, especially within health sciences or other regulated sectors.

• Demonstrated success in deploying algorithms into production.

• Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistical methods.

• Proficiency in using PyTorch or other deep learning frameworks.

• Knowledge of current advancements in deep learning, including Transformer/ViT, large-scale modeling, and large-model training.

• Best practices in software and machine learning engineering, including testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Dockerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.

• Experience with biosignals, medical imaging data, or extensive time-series datasets, or a strong desire to gain more knowledge in the area.

• Ability to distill, discuss, and present complex technical subjects appropriately for various audiences.

• Willingness and enthusiasm to participate in the entire algorithm development lifecycle, including formal validation, quality/regulatory documentation, production deployment, and client collaborations.
