Senior AI/ML Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee and spearhead back-end projects throughout the entire stack, utilizing Python and Node.js/Go services on Kubernetes, while taking ownership of the delivery process from start to finish.

• Develop workflows and deployments for Generative AI.

• Construct, optimize, and sustain data pipelines that support AI/ML workflows and model deployments.

• Design and utilize REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs, ensuring a balance between performance, scalability, and resilience.

• Engage in architectural and design discussions for AI/ML-driven features alongside engineering leadership.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers and lead intricate, cross-functional projects.

• Effectively communicate technical solutions and progress to leadership, aligning them with business goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in back-end software engineering, focusing on the delivery of scalable, high-performance systems in dynamic enterprise settings.

• Proficiency in Python is mandatory.

• Familiarity with TypeScript and/or Java is preferred.

• Significant experience with microservices architecture on Kubernetes.

• Strong skills in database design and performance optimization across SQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases like MongoDB.

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in applied ML.

• Understanding of ML/AI principles and workflows, including MLOps and model deployment/monitoring.

• Comprehensive knowledge of back-end security best practices, covering API security, sensitive data management, authentication/authorization, OAuth, and JWT.

• Comfortable working in an Agile environment and capable of independently breaking down large initiatives.

• Must have authorization to work in Canada without restrictions.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and operations; familiarity with Kafka and Spark; experience in LLM/agentic AI development pipelines; knowledge in cybersecurity, IoT, or NLP domains.
