This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the assessment, training, and integration of cutting-edge AI and machine learning models throughout the product range.
• Train and optimize supervised learning models, including classification, ranking, and embeddings, for both internal tools and customer-facing applications.
• Direct prompt engineering and testing efforts to refine LLM behavior for various product use cases.
• Create and implement evaluation pipelines for both LLMs and conventional ML models.
• Collaborate with and enhance Elasticsearch-backed data systems that support AI and intelligence workflows.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance AI models, data pipelines, and engineering processes.
• Develop tools and frameworks for prompt iteration, model benchmarking, and performance monitoring.
• Work alongside the security team to uphold AI compliance standards.
• Assess commercial and open-source LLMs based on performance, cost, alignment, and reliability.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to safely, scalably, and sustainably integrate AI features.
• Monitor, assess, and continually enhance the performance of production AI and machine learning models.
• Stay updated on emerging research in NLP, machine learning, and AI infrastructure and evaluate their business applications.
• Contribute to the culture, values, and vision of AlertMedia.
• A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 2 years of software engineering experience; proficiency in Python is preferred.
• 4–6+ years of experience in data science and/or software engineering, particularly in machine learning engineering or applied AI.
• Strong comprehension of LLMs and traditional machine learning techniques.
• Experience in prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and evaluation processes.
• Familiarity with model evaluation best practices, including offline metrics, cross-validation, and A/B testing.
• Proficient in Python and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face.
• Experience with Elasticsearch or other large-scale search and indexing systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-based ML tools like SageMaker and Bedrock, along with data workflows.
• Proven experience in training and deploying supervised learning models, ideally within production environments.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness and capability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
