This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Define and enhance the technical architecture for Caseware’s AI platform, establishing architectural standards, contracts, and design principles that facilitate scalable, secure, reusable, and reliable AI capabilities across various teams.
• Design, develop, and manage AI systems powered by large language models (LLMs), retrieval pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI-enabled services, including multi-agent systems, agent execution runtimes, workflow orchestration, memory management, and human-in-the-loop AI capabilities.
• Create and implement evaluation, governance, auditability, and traceability frameworks that ensure AI systems are measurable, explainable, compliant, and continuously improving.
• Convert advancements in AI into practical, maintainable platform capabilities that address real customer issues.
• Shape technical direction through architecture reviews, requests for comments (RFCs), design discussions, and collaborative efforts.
• Assess emerging AI technologies, models, frameworks, and cloud capabilities.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives that inform platform strategy and future investments.
• Balance delivery speed, quality, maintainability, and long-term platform sustainability when making technical decisions.
• Promote reliability, observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices across AI systems and platforms.
• Ensure systems are resilient, scalable, cost-effective, and operationally efficient in production settings.
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, Security, Domain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Engineering teams to deliver business value.
• Serve as a trusted technical leader, aiding teams in achieving success through collaboration, influence, and shared ownership.
• Mentor engineers across teams and contribute to enhancing overall engineering maturity.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating impact beyond a single team.
• 2+ years of experience in building and operating production AI systems.
• Proven track record in designing distributed, SaaS, cloud-native, multi-tenant platforms at scale.
• Experience in implementing AI guardrails, governance controls, and safety mechanisms.
• Strong understanding of tradeoffs in AI systems, including latency, cost, accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
• Extensive experience in building and operating production systems on AWS.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions across teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments characterized by ambiguity and changing requirements.
