Senior AI Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Identify high-impact product and operational challenges by collaborating closely with users, business stakeholders, and internal teams, and establish clear success criteria prior to coding.

• Develop and launch customer-facing AI functionalities and internal automations that enhance lead quality, matching, prediction, call intelligence, CRM, support, and operations.

• Construct agents and workflows that securely utilize tools, APIs, databases, calls, SMS, email, and other company systems, ensuring human approval where necessary to mitigate risk.

• Establish the contextual framework around models, including instructions, retrieval, memory, structured outputs, tool definitions, permissions, and feedback mechanisms.

• Create dependable event-driven and scheduled automation utilizing webhooks, queues, schedulers, retries, idempotency, audit logs, and graceful fallbacks.

• Develop evaluation datasets and automated checks that assess usefulness, accuracy, failure modes, regressions, latency, and costs—both pre- and post-release.

• Analyze real production failures and enhance the overall system rather than focusing solely on the prompt or model response.

• Transform successful solutions into reusable components and patterns that cater to additional iSpeedToLead niches without the need for complete redevelopment.

• Take ownership of architecture, quality, security, and business outcomes—not just the pull request.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and deploying production software end-to-end, preferably in a SaaS, marketplace, or workflow product—where real users and revenue are involved.

• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, along with a solid understanding of backend fundamentals: APIs, databases, authentication, data models, testing, and deployment.

• Hands-on experience in delivering LLM-powered functionalities using model APIs, structured outputs, tool/function calling, retrieval, context engineering, and agentic workflows.

• Experience with production automation: webhooks, events, queues, schedules, retries, idempotency, monitoring, and failure recovery—not just ideal scenarios.

• Strong practical evaluation skills: test sets, traces, quality metrics, regression checks, feedback loops, and diagnosing real production failures.

• Daily proficiency with AI coding agents (such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar)—you review, test, refactor, and secure generated outputs, rather than deploying them unrefined.

• English proficiency at C1+; our stakeholders, users, and business owners are based in the US, necessitating sharp and clear communication.

• AI-first mindset by default—if you aren’t already leveraging AI to triple your output, you risk falling behind your engineering peers.

• Product ownership and strong decision-making abilities in ambiguous, fast-paced environments—you clarify objectives, make trade-offs, and link every technical decision to a business KPI.
