Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and develop applications suitable for production alongside custom workflows driven by LLMs.

• Construct intelligent data processing workflows utilizing OCR, PDF layout analysis, as well as audio and image models.

• Architect and enhance event-driven data streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka to support AI workloads.

• Develop and maintain high-performance APIs that integrate AI functionalities with the platform.

• Implement evaluation frameworks (evals) to assess and monitor model quality, accuracy, and regressions.

• Collaborate proactively with product teams to establish technical requirements.

• Mentor engineers, lead architecture discussions, and uphold best practices through code reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering with a solid foundation in backend and distributed systems.

• At least 2 years of experience in building and deploying production-level AI/LLM systems.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

• Proven experience in developing production-grade applications with custom agentic systems, document processing pipelines, and/or information-retrieval systems.

• Practical experience with event-driven architectures and streaming technologies using Apache Kafka.

• Familiarity with AI evaluation methods (evals), observability/tracing, security measures, cost optimization strategies, latency reduction, and semantic caching.

• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Golang, with experience in frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.

• Robust skills in designing, developing, and maintaining production REST APIs and databases.

• High level of ownership and product insight: capable of addressing ambiguous challenges, gathering technical requirements, prioritizing impact, and executing tasks independently.

• Preferred: Experience with LLM fine-tuning and model optimization techniques.

• Preferred: Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
