Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Create and develop secure enterprise applications utilizing React, TypeScript, Python, and API services.

• Construct agentic workflows and MCP integrations that connect AI applications to enterprise data and tools.

• Implement structured outputs, manage workflow states, facilitate human approval steps, and ensure error recovery.

• Develop authentication, authorization, role-based access control, and maintain audit logging.

• Establish AI evaluation, guardrails, tracking, and monitoring to ensure quality, safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

• Collaborate with domain experts and product managers to transform requirements into scalable solutions.

• Design reusable, configuration-driven components for the benefit of other teams.

• Take ownership of production code, including tests and documentation.

• Mentor engineers and provide guidance on technical direction across various teams.

• Participate in technical interviews through Nortal's Technical Interviewer Program.

• Assist a US client in developing secure enterprise applications and AI agents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related STEM discipline.

• A minimum of five years of software development experience, with at least five years using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.

• Proficient in React, API development, application architecture, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.

• Practical experience in building AI-assisted applications, agentic workflows, or tool-calling solutions.

• Familiarity with MCP, structured outputs, context management, or similar frameworks.

• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, RBAC, and secure coding practices.

• Comprehensive experience throughout the software lifecycle, from requirements and architecture to deployment and production support.

• Advanced English proficiency is essential for collaborating with US clients.

• Experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, data lakes, GitLab CI/CD, policy-as-code, infrastructure-as-code, data marketplaces, governance platforms, internal developer platforms, or privacy, security, and AI governance controls is an added advantage.
