Senior Software Engineer – AI SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance backend systems utilizing Scala, Play, Postgres, and AWS

• Create and implement scalable APIs and AI-enhanced services

• Take ownership of feature development from conception to deployment

• Develop frontend functionalities with React, Chakra, Storybook, and contemporary state management tools

• Build and sustain agent-driven development workflows

• Leverage Claude Code and Codex to expedite implementation, debugging, and refactoring in parallel sessions

• Develop internal tools, prompts, and engineering frameworks to enhance productivity and code quality

• Improve performance across frontend, backend, and AI-assisted pipelines

• Contribute to establishing best practices for AI-native software development

• Eventually guide a small team of 2–3 engineers and influence their collaboration with AI

• Assist in architecting and transforming Process Street into an AI-native product and engineering organization

• Define collaboration methods for engineers with AI, structure codebases for agent interaction, and adapt workflows with AI as a primary participant

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering

• Extensive experience with backend systems utilizing Scala, Java, Ruby, or C#

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and React

• Proven experience in developing and scaling SaaS products

• Deep knowledge of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor

• Ability to work effectively within multi-session, agent-driven workflows

• Strong judgment on when to utilize AI versus manual coding

• Experience in system design beyond just feature implementation

• Excellent written communication skills

• Reside in a timezone between UTC−6 and UTC+2

• Experience or experimentation with custom LLM development workflows

• Familiarity with internal engineering tools, prompts, and competencies

• Experience or experimentation with agent-like systems functioning across files, repositories, or tasks

• Comfortable with coding, system design, prompting or directing AI agents, and troubleshooting AI-generated outputs

• Experience in functional programming, internal developer tools/platforms, and prompt-system or reusable AI workflow design are additional advantages
