Senior AI & Cloud-Native Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the software and cloud-native architecture for AI-driven applications and retrieval systems, overseeing the process from design through to production.

• Create scalable, secure, and resilient architectures for AI-enabled applications, focusing on service boundaries, data flows, APIs, and integration patterns.

• Establish cloud-native patterns that span microservices, containers, serverless architectures, and event-driven systems.

• Design and implement GenAI and RAG solutions, which include model selection and routing, retrieval strategies, evaluation, guardrails, and optimization of cost and latency.

• Develop backend services using TypeScript/Node.js and/or Python.

• Construct event-driven workflows utilizing queues, workers, and webhooks.

• Specify non-functional requirements, assess trade-offs, and document decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).

• Convert business use cases into technical designs, assessments, and executive summaries.

• Manage architecture from the discovery phase to go-live.

• Mentor engineers during architecture and code review processes.

• Implement observability and secure continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of software engineering experience.

• Demonstrated experience in owning the architecture of production-grade distributed systems, including microservices, domain-driven design, REST, and asynchronous APIs.

• Practical experience in delivering production GenAI or LLM applications, including evaluation and AI safety controls.

• Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, and vector databases such as pgvector or OpenSearch.

• Strong engineering expertise in TypeScript/Node.js or Python.

• In-depth understanding of cloud-native patterns, including containers and Kubernetes, serverless architectures, event-driven messaging, and resilience patterns.

• Comprehensive knowledge of security in cloud-native environments, covering identity, authorization, secrets management, and data protection.

• Experience with Docker, CI/CD processes, automated testing, and observability tools like OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Datadog, or CloudWatch.

• Familiar with AWS services, including Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions, ECS/EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB.

• Background in conversational and contact center technologies such as WhatsApp Business API, Amazon Connect, Amazon Lex, Twilio, or voice bots.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or an equivalent certification.

• Experience in customer-facing consulting roles and comfortable presenting to executive stakeholders.

• Advanced proficiency in English (C1/C2).
