Senior Actuary, Field Deployment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with a carrier or reinsurer within its active portfolio, including Florida wind, California wildfire, or Texas hail.

• Execute Prometheus on in-force exposures and pinpoint incumbent-model discrepancies at the parcel level.

• Compose succinct memos assessing loss-ratio variances and advising Chief Actuaries on decisions.

• Establish new budget categories and account-by-account market demand.

• Integrate field insights into the product development roadmap through close partnership with Engineering and the CEO.

• Transparently identify model discrepancies, taking ownership of the account, technical reasoning, and numerical details.

• Report to the Head of Revenue while collaborating closely with the CEO to drive revenue generation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6 to 9 years of experience within a carrier, reinsurer, or MGA as a pricing actuary, underwriting manager, cat modeling lead, or portfolio manager; preference for carrier-side experience over vendor roles.

• Personal accountability for a loss ratio, rate filing, or treaty renewal; must be able to specify the book, state, year, and figure.

• Proficient in Touchstone, RMS, or AIR.

• A network of 15 or more Chief Actuaries, Chief Underwriting Officers, and Heads of Cat Modeling who would promptly respond to your outreach.

• Willingness to travel as required (approximately 40%).

• Capable of articulating and defending positions in a memo, filing narrative, or whitepaper.

• Open to publicly identifying where the company's model diverges from a customer's model and providing explanations.
