Associate Actuary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute intricate actuarial tasks with minimal oversight.

• Produce results of exceptional quality.

• Convey findings and recommendations to actuarial colleagues, leaders, and senior stakeholders.

• Utilize advanced critical thinking to pinpoint complex issues, evaluate risks, and implement effective solutions.

• Take ownership of complex projects from initiation to completion.

• Provide direction to project teams.

• Mentor junior analysts through coaching and knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Successful completion of 4 or more exams for the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.

• Upon employment: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).

• 5 years of experience in healthcare actuarial/analytics.

• Proficiency in writing queries using SQL or another programming language.

• Proven project management capabilities in data-centric and financial analysis projects.

• Experience within a large healthcare provider or plan.

• Preferred: Master's Degree in a relevant field.

• Preferred: Upon employment, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).

• Preferred: Familiarity with Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid revenue methodologies.

• Preferred: Experience with Alternative Payment Models (APMs) and Value-Based Care contracts.
