This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborates with both internal and external partners to address complex challenges.
• Gathers, analyzes, and/or generates critical data to support Enterprise goals.
• Designs, assesses, and tests models aimed at reducing risk and/or enhancing profitability.
• Creates controlled procedures and dependable calculations for liability estimates, which include IBNR, risk adjustments, and provider incentive payments.
• Projects pricing, reserves, and cash flow estimates to ensure rate precision.
• Anticipates product performance and examines deviations from prior forecasts to pinpoint emerging trends.
• Oversees projects related to Enterprise objectives and enhancements within the Actuarial Division.
• Guides and nurtures Actuaries, Actuarial Analysts, and Data Analysts.
• Delivers presentations on actuarial models, exhibits, and forecasts to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Offers actuarial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Supplies timely and precise information that verifies adherence to federal and state regulations.
• Acts as a representative of the Actuarial Division with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Serves as the Division authority on actuarial issues concerning assigned products.
• Aids in the creation of new products and services.
• Works alongside and mentors Data Analysts and Actuarial Analysts.
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Business, or a related quantitative field.
• Associate status in the Society of Actuaries is required.
• Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries is required.
• At least ten (10) years of actuarial experience, primarily in the healthcare sector, with a proven track record of advancement in the Actuary career path.
• Proficient in using relational databases, statistical software, spreadsheets, and/or database applications.
• Experience in rate-making, asset and liability valuation, and experience studies across various product types.
• Demonstrated experience in leading Division/Enterprise projects, including managing Data Analysts, Actuarial Analysts, Actuaries, and/or interns.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare financing industries, particularly managed care delivery models.
• Consistently receives above-average performance evaluations as an Actuary.
• Strong skills in mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, attention to detail, communication, analytical problem solving, sound judgment, self-motivation, mentoring, leadership, and time management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access VBA, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft PowerPoint, R Programming, SAS, SQL, Tableau, and other data and statistical analysis software.
• Must ensure the security and confidentiality of records and information.
