This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• In the role of Sr. Actuary/Actuary within the Capital Analytics and ALM team, you will join a highly efficient group responsible for overseeing the ALM framework and statutory capital analytics and strategy at Standard.
• You will have the chance to collaborate with senior actuaries and leaders from all actuarial divisions, as well as finance, investments, and accounting sectors.
• We seek an actuary who possesses a strategic mindset and a collaborative approach when working with their team.
• Manage risks related to interest rates, liquidity, and credit.
• Conduct quarterly reviews of the RBC position, perform scenario analyses, and project the capital position.
• Forecast short-term investment income, manage liquidity risk, and predict short-term capital as part of the Financial Plan.
• Develop new strategies to adapt to the evolving needs of business lines.
• Provide thought leadership and support strategic initiatives by leading projects aimed at enhancing ALM and capital-related analytics, tools, and governance.
• Assist business lines with product development and pricing requirements.
• Contribute to the development of methodologies to address ALM, capital, and asset strategies.
• A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field is preferred.
• ASA or FSA designation is required, depending on the level of the role indicated above.
• CFA or CERA designation is a plus.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a Corporate, Life, Disability, or Annuity actuarial team is required to gain a seasoned actuarial business perspective.
• Proven experience as a senior individual contributor in ALM, Capital, finance, or investments is a plus.
• Practical experience in designing and implementing ALM strategies to address business line and enterprise challenges is a plus.
• Previous involvement with hedging programs and strategic asset allocation efforts is a plus.
• Experience with U.S. statutory capital in projections and scenario creation is a plus.
