Actuary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist with the GAAP Actuarial Valuation and Financial Reporting processes for specified lines of business.

• Set up GAAP reserves, intangible balances, and associated financial reporting outputs for selected products.

• Supervise a team of actuaries and/or actuarial technicians.

• Oversee the monthly and quarterly preparation of GAAP reserves and intangible balances.

• Prepare, review, and analyze changes in reserves and intangible balances.

• Maintain, enhance, and ensure the timely execution of valuation and intangible controls.

• Keep informed about new GAAP regulations, accounting standards, and evolving actuarial requirements.

• Assist in internal and external audits by supplying technical documentation and clarifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 5 years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably with a focus on GAAP valuation.

• Previous experience in intangibles reporting, including VOBA, DAC, DSI, and/or Cost of Reinsurance, is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with actuarial modeling platforms (e.g., AXIS) is advantageous.

• FSA and MAAA certifications are highly preferred; ASA designation may be acceptable with increased relevant experience.
