This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and conduct actuarial studies and reports focused on medical expenses, risk scores, revenue, and membership levels.
• Evaluate findings to detect early indicators of unfavorable trends or other concerns related to medical care costs and revenue from premiums.
• Enhance the precision of financial forecasts through actuarially sound studies.
• Assist the Finance department in business development discussions by providing robust recommendations on risk-sharing arrangements.
• Collaborate with IT partners to develop reporting in analytical tools like Power BI.
• Execute analytics and reporting for both existing and new programs.
• Undertake studies assessing the value of current and prospective interventions and clinical programs.
• A bachelor’s degree in actuarial studies, statistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Progress towards becoming an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
• 2-5 years of experience in the healthcare actuarial sector with a solid grasp of health insurance product design (preferably Medicare and Medicaid), reserving/forecasting, and Medicare bid pricing.
• Experience in value-based contracting modeling is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Government healthcare contracts is preferred (Medicare and Medicaid).
• Proficient in Excel, Databricks, SQL, SAS, or another programming language.
• Candidates with experience in AI tools will receive additional consideration.
