This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Examine collection reports to assess collection status, outstanding balances, and the effectiveness of collection policies and procedures.
• Conduct audits on delinquent accounts deemed uncollectible before designating them as bad credit.
• Evaluate account risk and changes in credit limits, and release orders on credit hold on a daily basis.
• Implement or support credit and collection strategies that help reduce calculated Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
• Investigate and resolve chargebacks, unauthorized deductions, and issues related to policy compliance.
• Oversee the collection of assigned accounts within defined terms and conditions.
• Create and execute billing, collections, and cash-application policies.
• Maintain effective communication and foster relationships.
• Aid in financial planning through cash-flow forecasting.
• Support month-end close processes, including accounts receivable reconciliation, bad debt reserve assessment, cash management, and journal-entry preparation.
• Ensure accurate customer records are maintained in the ERP system.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in credit and collections is required.
• Experience in the construction and manufacturing industries is preferred.
• Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles, practices, and reporting standards.
• Adherence to the company’s code of ethics, independence regulations, and quality control practices.
• Strong background in financial control.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Sound judgment, business ethics, integrity, and consulting capabilities.
• Capacity to independently plan, prioritize, organize, and manage a varied workload.
• Ability to assess situations, identify alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong organizational and time management skills along with attention to detail.
• Proficient in handling multiple priorities and sensitive material confidentially.
• Exceptional computer skills with extensive knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software.
• Proficient in email, scheduling, meeting-management, and related communication software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and produce clear reports, presentations, and business correspondence.
• Leadership skills with a proven ability to supervise and manage teams.
